Ronda is the capital of the Serrania (Mountain range) comprising 27 municipalities that cover an area of 1,500 square kilometres and with a population of about 65,000, including the almost 40,000 that live in Ronda itself.
A beautiful city less than an hour from the coast of Marbella, Ronda has attracted visitors and tourists for decades, but now more and more are starting to buy property in the city and outlying villages such as Arriate. Benaojan and Montejaque to name but a few. The road to Ronda travels along the mountains so is steep and winding and you have had it if you get stuck behind a tourist bus...but saying that the views are spectacular.
Summers are beautiful and the autumn months are not to be missed, but winters can be cold and the roads can be affected by snow.
